Recently, we were upset! The B.A.T.M.A.N. article in the German-speaking Wikipedia was deleted because of "irrelevance". Let's bring it back!

I propose a Wikipedia editathon to improve and update several Wikipedia articles on Freifunk-related topics in our different languages.

When?

  • Friday May 15th 4 p.m.
  • Maybe again later this weekend.

What to bring

  • Some of us bring their technical knowledge.
  • Others bring their writing skills.
  • Others bring their knowledge about strategies of communication with Wikipedians ;)

List of articles that need love

German WP

  • Freifunk kann immer mal auf Aktualität geprüft werden.
  • Entwurf für einen neuen B.A.T.M.A.N. Artikel, unvollständig liegt jetzt in Löschprüfung
  • Vermaschtes Netz, sehr knapp, könnte etwas mehr ausgeführt werden
  • OLSR, die Seite hat einen Wartungsbaustein wg. Qualitätsmängeln, Zitat: "Begründung: Der Artikel vermischt Konzepte mit der Implementierung. Das Protokoll selbst wird nicht ausreichend erklärt, die vorgestellten Optimierungen haben teilweise nichts mit dem Protokoll selbst zu tun sondern beschreiben allgemeine Probleme im Netzwerkbereich und deren Lösung."
  • Ad-hoc-Netz unten Wartungsbaustein wg. veralteter Infos
  • Peering, Pico-Peering-Agreement leitet weiter auf Peering. Dann sollten das Hauptanliegen des PPA in dem kurzen Absatz dort zusammengefasst sein. Das wird gar nicht erklärt done
  • OpenWrt prüfen, ob der Artikel noch aktuell ist, rote Links?

English WP

  • B.A.T.M.A.N., it's about the same article that was deleted in the German speaking WP. Not wrong but not written for people who want to look it up.
  • IEEE 802.1aq "This article may be too technical for most readers to understand."
  • OpenWrt "This article may rely excessively on sources too closely associated with the subject, potentially preventing the article from being verifiable and neutral. Please help improve it by replacing them with more appropriate citations to reliable, independent, third-party sources. (November 2013)"
  • Check if the Freifunk article needs updates
